The function is identical to the Improved Version, but you'll get a unique custom designed look. The layout will remain the same, but the colors, logo header, and the accents on the page will be changed to give the site the feel you want to make it completely yours. This is a great value for anyone who wants to resell the improved site, but wants to differentiate their own from the ones they sell.

Full instructions for installing on your server are included with this. It isn't terribly hard to do, because the instructions include lots of screenshots. You can get this software up and running on a server within about 15 minutes if you have done this kind of thing before, or about half an hour to an hour if you have not. This Improved Version makes it even easier to install, because the instructions are a bit more detailed, and additional instructions are included for more than just the install.

This package gives you a ready to go AdSense income generating website which allows other authors to submit articles to your site, or to get content by using the articles from your site on theirs. You just market it and it will earn. This part of the function has not changed, it still does the job in an identical manner. What has changed is the appearance, and some enhanced security and function elements. The layout is nearly identical, but it has a more dynamic color scheme, so your site won't be identical to the demo sites out there. Also, Metatags have been installed, making it more search engine friendly.

You can also resell the entire package, including the resale rights. Most people who sell this do not actually USE the article site, but I not only use it, I have customized it as well, so I recommend it based on what it actually does. Here are some of the features I like:

It runs on PHP 4.0 or greater, which means it will work on just about any server that supports PHP. It also uses MySQL, so most servers with a database available will support it.
The categories are not obscene like they are in many of the pre-categorized software packages like this. They are thoughtful and well organized.
You can choose which articles to display on the home page, and it is very simple to do.
You can control the users, delete users, and reset user passwords if you need to.
You can set the program to accept articles automatically, or to require approval before they go active, so you can limit spam posts.
Much of the code is html, so it is easier than it would otherwise be to make changes to the design and layout.
It has AdSense code built into it, you can just change your publisher ID. It has a Page Bottom Ad also, and you can change that to a Google also if you want. This version has been customized so that you can put Googles in where the Page Bottom Ads are, as this ad has been removed from the pages that Google forbids them being on. Page bottom Googles are actually very effective because they are right where people end up after scanning through any page.
The control panel allows you to edit articles, recategorize them, or approve or deny submissions.
You can easily delete or add categories, and you can designate them as a parent or child category.
When you buy resale rights you can also rebrand it, customize it, call it your own, or do whatever you want with it. A very flexible license.
It includes only a few articles in the package database. Enough to make the site look used, but not enough to give you duplicate content to all the other sites. I do suggest you remove these from the home page and replace them with other articles as quickly as you can so your site is different.
This site DOES produce articles that are indexed by the search engines. Some php sites don't index very well past the first page, but if I search on keywords from my articles that I posted to the site, the article page does come up.
This version has Description and Keyword metatags, making it more search engine friendly.
This version has a more vibrant color scheme, with strong blues for professional appeal.
The layout in this version has been modified to contain a Links box in the standard template. That means you can put in affiliate links, cross link your websites, exchange links with other site owners, or use the space for other useful purposes.
This version has specialized instructions, with ideas on how to use the directory creatively, how to use the Admin Control Panel better, and a few more details to make setup more intuitive. It also contains instructions on how to change the colors or even replace the page design elements with new ones. It has better instructions for customizing the logo header also.
Optional customization files for using a welcome image or not, and having newsletter signup or not.
Custom design elements. This means the tabs and labels will have your choice of color and design elements. Typically these elements use borders, bars, or tabs, and you'll get some choices in how it looks.
Messages and specific page text will be changed for your business. We'll put your name on the page bottom copyright, and your personal welcome and explanation message on the home page.
Custom MetaTags. The description and keyword metatags will be changed for you to reflect whatever niche you want to target.
Graphic Logo Header design included. We'll create a logo for you that fits your intended purpose.

I find that the program only has two significant drawbacks:

Because it is written in php, it is harder to make a few types of changes that I'd really like to make in it.
Some of the Admin settings won't work in Mozilla FireFox, you have to set them in Internet Explorer instead. This only applies to some of the page messages though, so you check them once, and don't have to again.

I have used this directory for more than just random Articles. In fact, you can use this package for anything that accepts submissions in a similar format, and which needs everything in the site automatically categorized. Since you can remove, add, or change categories, you can really use this for a wide variety of site types. You can target it to a tight niche, or give it broad categories. The Improved Version is simply the best version of the Article Site Directory to use for creative applications, because of the additional instructions which are written just for this piece of software, by someone who has used it, and by someone who is experienced at writing instructional materials. The Custom Version is unbeatable for people who want to use it for creative sites, but who are not sure they can customize the elements themselves, or who wish a unique design of their own, while selling the package to others.

I could recommend this package as doing exactly what it says it will, even if I were charging a whole lot more for it. I am charging this little because I feel this is such a good program for people who are starting out with AdSense, and who want to operate an article site but who cannot afford pricier software, and who do not have the skills to learn how to use a full feature Content Management System. I priced it low to give you a shot at actually using it, and for startups who need solid products at an affordable price. The original version of this package originally sold for $197 alone, and for $397 with resale rights, and it is still probably worth that for the value you get out of it.

You get FULL Master Resale Rights with this, so you can sell it as you like. It has been around for a bit (in online aging terms), so the value is not what it once was, but it is still a good product simply because it is enough to build a business around on its own. You can customize it, just as I did, add more useful tidbits, change the code if you have the skills to do so and make it do something else, or improve it however you like, and then resell THAT. Even if you paid $400 for it, you could make up that investment with less than 10 sales if you only charged what I do, because with downloads, it is nearly all profit.
